October 1st update

I am delighted to bring you greetings from the Transition Team. This team, comprised of Lynne Greene, Barbara Bitzer, Ian Rutherford, Janet Howitt and myself (Jennifer Spaulding), has been meeting since the end of August with the mandate of finding a minister to lead us through this time of transition, working with them to set and attain specific goals that will help see us through this time of change and to support him or her throughout the process.

Normally members of such teams stand before you to share good news items. My news is not good; it is spectacular! I am ecstatic to announce that Trinity has hired a transition supply minister, Bill Bruce, to serve Trinity through our time of transition. Bill comes to us with many years of ordained ministerial experience in the United Church and specific interim ministry training. He is very intelligent, intuitive, energetic and hard-working. He brings much wisdom and experience helping congregations thrive in times of change and our team is confident that he is exactly the right person Trinity needs at this time.

More information about Bill and his supply appointment will be circulated in the coming week. You will see him in the church building beginning on October 10th, the day after Thanksgiving. At least for that week, his working hours will be 10 AM – noon each day at the church and he will lead worship beginning on Sunday, Oct. 15th. He has also let us know that he plans to join us in worship next Sunday, so if you are here, please feel free to introduce yourself.

As I stated, stay tuned for more details in the coming days; there are still specifics that need to be worked out. But we did not want to miss this opportunity to share this exciting news with you!
