Reported to the Congregation on November 25, by Peter Oliver, Coordinator of Finance and Facilities
Good morning. The last few weeks we have been in discussions with St. Matthews and I am happy to announce that we have signed a new lease agreement for the upcoming year. In doing these meetings it gave me time to reflect a little bit and as Bill mentioned earlier, a year ago today, we actually climbed up the hill with the cross in our hands and brought all our possessions to 54 Benton Street.
I remember that day being a very scary day for me, because, and I am sure for all of us, we had no idea where we were being led, what we were going to do, and how we were going to do it. I think we have done a tremendous job at transitioning into this small space and one thing that it has proven is that it is not about the building, its about the people.
As we watch our lovely church crumble to the ground it comes with mixed emotions for all of us but, I want you to know your leadership teams from your church are working very, very hard, at figuring our future.
Thank you for your patience and I think it is a day of celebration.
