What’s Happening at Trinity…

Time of Fellowship: Please join us in the Fellowship Hall after the service on Sunday for a Special Advent Lunch with Carol Singing and Church Decorating. All are welcome!

L3 Consulting Group Surveys: A paper copy of the surveys regarding Trinity’s health and the diverse perspectives of the congregation are available in the Narthex and the front foyer for those of you who would like to give input. Please complete them by December 8th and submit them to the office. Or, you may complete the survey online, the link was sent to members with emails in an e-blast earlier this week.

Journey to Bethlehem Bus Trip: Wednesday December 7 from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. A trip to Five Oaks Center in Paris. A unique Advent walk to experience the sights and sounds of an outdoor journey to Bethlehem. Seating on a first come, first serve basis $10/family, $3.00 for singles (payment in advance preferred). Poinsettias for sale: The Heard 3 will once again be offering gorgeous Poinsettias as a fundraiser for ringette and dance. Orders can be placed in the Fellowship Hall during coffee hour today or you can e-mail D-J with your request. They come in 4 sizes, and 3 colours so there is something for everyone!! They may be picked up at the church on Thursday Dec 8. Thanks for your support!

50 Acts of Kindness by Kids for Advent: Pick up a copy listing ideas for advent (ex. Make a Christmas card for a neighbor, give out free hugs, deliver cookies to a neighbor… ) Available in the Narthex and the office foyer

Advent Calendar 2016: Twenty-nine ideas to help you at this time when we watch and pray expectantly for Christ’s birthday. Available in the Narthex and the office foyer.

2017 Skating and Crokinole Tournament: Lori-Ann L has won an hour of ice time at the Kitchener Auditorium for January 8th. Skating would be from 1:30 - 2:20 pm, with the dressing rooms being available from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Only 50 people are allowed on the ice at one time. Lori- Ann has also rented the Viewing Lounge for two hours, for those of you who do not like to skate. A crokinole tournament is being planned in the lounge. If you have a board bring it along. If do not know the game check out the rules at http://www.crokinole.com/rules.asp Everything will wrap up by 3:30 pm. This is a private event, and a wide range of people have been invited. This Week at 74 Frederick

More new lighting has been put up outside to ensure safety on our site.

A group of volunteers helped out on Tuesday afternoon and evening preparing the church for the Advent season. Some returned on Thursday to set the chapel up for the OASIS OF PEACE which will be open to the public on Thursdays during Advent.

November 27, 7:00 pm: Advent Carol Service at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Freewill offering, a donation will be made to the House of Friendship.

December 5, 11 am – 6 pm: ShamRose for Syrian culture and the MCC supported by Trinity United are holding their annual Syrian Bazaar Fundraiser V at the MCC building 50 Kent Ave. Syrian food & sweets prepared by new comers will be available for you to taste. All proceeds will go to the MCC’s work in Syria.

December 5, 7:30 pm: Holiday concert with the Ceremonial Band of the Waterloo Regional Police Service. Held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen St. North, Kitchener. Free will offering with proceeds going to community Health Work in Mendha, India

December 6, 4:00 – 5:30 pm: Green House Social Impact Showcase, being held at St. Paul’s University College, Waterloo.. They will be celebrating the diversity of their GreenHouse innovators and their journeys in social entrepreneurship.

Sunday Dec. 11, 3:00 pm -- "Christmas Celebration" concert with Grand Philharmonic adult, children and youth choirs, plus K-W Symphony at Centre in the Square, Kitchener. Enjoy Christmas music and audience singalong. Tickets just $5 for children and teens. 519-578-1570 or www.grandphilchoir.com
