What's Happening at Trinity...

United Church Calendars:  If you would like a calendar, please contact the office.  They are $5.00 each.

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes:  We are in need of sturdy boxes for packing items at the church. Please bring in boxes that can be sealed (top and bottom flaps) or ones with lids.  Liquor store boxes are good as well as photocopy paper boxes for those of you in business.  Please leave them in the chapel.

Gifts with Vision:  New Catalogues are now available in the Annex, Narthex and Hearth Room.  Check out this year’s edition. Information also available online here.

Godly Play:  will be provided throughout the month of October for our children at Trinity.

Full Presbytery Meeting: Tuesday October 24th at Trinity United in Guelph.

Trustee Meeting:  Wednesday October 25th at 7:00 pm in the Hearth Room.

Trinity Single Women's Dinner Group:  will meet at Swiss Chalet, Highland and Westmount Roads location on Tuesday, October 31 at 6:00 pm. Please contact Pauline U. to RSVP or for more information. 

A Service of Remebrance:  led by the choir on Sunday November 5th at 10:00 am.  Please join us.

Messy Church:  Sunday November 5th from 4:00 – 6:00pm at St. Matthews. 

The Attawapiskat Reserve in Northern Ontario is starting up a community kitchen to provide dinner to elders and children in particular, at least twice a month. Through Friends of the North we have received a shopping list of requested items. We will be holding a food drive to support the kitchen through October. Please help us support the reserve as they work towards improving life within the community.

* Spices (dried onions and garlic, cinnamon for bannock, salt and pepper, anything else that compliments meat)
* Pasta
* Rice
* Dried vegetables
* Flour, Sugar and other items for baking
* Paper or Reusable bowls, cups, utensils etc… so they can serve their guests
* Other reusable kitchen items shredders, dish cloths etc…

In October Canada Post will ship up to 5 kg for free on Tuesdays if you have a business account with them.  If you have a business account with Canada Post and are willing to donate your shipping please contact Tina Coutts.

Return to Standard Time:  Sunday November 5th you can sleep in an extra hour as clocks revert back to standard time overnight.

Community Events

Sunday October 22nd at 3:00 pm:  There will be a Covenanting Service with Joe Gaspar, Heather Power and Parkminster United at 275 Erb St. East, Waterloo.  The presider will be Rev. Fred Monteith and the guest preacher will be Rev. Phillip Cable. Please join this celebration of new ministry in our Presbytery.

Sunday October 22 at 7:30 pm:  Taize service at Conrad Grebel University College Chapel, 140 Westmount Road, North, Waterloo.

Saturday October 28th, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm: Pastoral Care Training Workshop at Gale Presbyterian Church, 10 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira.  Fee $15.00 with lunch provided. Register by October 25th at 519-669-2852 or milly.siderius@galepresbyterian.com.  See the poster in the Hearth Room.

Sunday October 29th at 10:30 am:  Celebration of First United Church, Cambridge.  We would like to have one last Sunday service with the pews filled as they were decades ago. If you have a connection to First - if you ever attended, were baptized, confirmed or married, said farewell to a loved one, went to Sunday School, preached, sang in the choir, attended Scouts, Cubs, Guides, etc. - or if you are a well-wisher, please join us for a celebration of faithful ministry. Following the service, please join us for coffee, cake, and a celebration of the church's life, in the Fretwell Auditorium.

Sunday October 29 from 7-9 pm:  There will be a Covenanting service for Jenn Hind and Emmanuel United. Roz Vincent-Haven will be presiding. Guest speakers will be Stephanie and Joe Mancini of The Working Centre. Emmanuel is at   22 Bridgeport Rd W, Waterloo, ON N2L 2Y3

Sunday November 5th at 3:00 pm:  There will be a Covenanting Service between Forest Hill United , Gary Clark and Ellen Baynton-Walker.  Located at 121 Westmount Rd E, Kitchener, ON N2M 4Y6.  There is ample parking available in the church parking lot. Please join this celebration of ministry as Presbytery members are a part of this covenanting too.

Sunday November 5 at 4:00 pm:  Inshallah, Inshallah Kids and Crossing Borders presents “Follow the Songlines” at Waterloo Collegiate Institute, 300 Hazel St., Waterloo.  Free-Will Offering

Tuesday November 7, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm:  SPAGHETTI SUPPER & BAKE SALE  - Mark your calendar!  Westminster United Church’s annual fundraiser. Dinner includes spaghetti with the choice of sauce, salad, rolls, beverages and dessert!  Adults are $12.00, Children 2-12 are $6.00 and Children under 2 are free.  Yummy home-baked goods will be for sale as well.  All are welcome - spread the word to friends, family and co-workers, and invite them to attend!
