What's Happening at Trinity...

Observer Subscription:  It is that time to renew your Observer subscription.  Please make cheques payable to Trinity United Church $25.00.  Due date is November 30th.

Sunday School:  We will begin once again this week at St. Matthews starting at 9:30 am.  Access from Church Street.

Our church is open:  for warmth and hospitality after the Cenotaph Service at the corner of Duke and Frederick on Saturday November 11th.

Social Action Team:  meeting Monday November 13th at 7:00 pm in the Reception Room.

Sorting & Packing Work Party:  Thursday November 16 from 1 - 3pm at Trinity.  Please join us - many hands make light work!

The Trinity Book Club:  will meet on Wednesday, November 15 at the home of Bev P. This month's book is "Faithful" by Alice Hoffman. Please join us.

Gord’s Organ Concert:  Sunday, Nov. 19th at 7:30 P.M.  This will be a relaxing evening of fun, music, and refreshments. And it will be the last chance to hear the magnificent pipe organ at Trinity before we move to St. Matthews, so come out and enjoy.  Absolutely free.  This is my gift to the congregation. 

Poinsettia Sales:  Now that the frost is on the pumpkin, it is time to start thinking about Poinsettias!!!  The Heard girls will once again be selling poinsettias as a fundraiser for their ringette teams and dance team.  They will be available to order after church Nov 12, or by e-mailing D-J at dj@heardu.ca or calling 519-578-9246.  Pick up will be Nov 28 at St. Matthews from 4-6:30.   Thanks again for your support!

Walking With Our Sisters ”:  Commemorative art installation to honour the missing and murdered Indigenous Women and the children who did not survive the Residential School system will be open to the public from Sunday November 19th until Saturday November 25th on Six Nations. 

There will be a car pool going to Six Nations on Wednesday November 22nd during the day.  The installation is open from 10 to 3 each day, a departure time from Trinity will be determined by those who choose to go.  Please speak with Tina Couts if you wish to attend on the 22nd.

There is also a bus tour going from the University of Waterloo on Saturday November 25th. (See announcement in the community events section.)

Donations for Christmas Memorial Flowers will be received on the offering plates or through the office.  This year we will be delivering the plants to our shut-ins after worship on December 3rd.  Please confirm the wording of your memorial with the church office no later than Wednesday, November 29th.  Call Dorothy at 519-742-3578 or email office@tuckitchener.org

Community Events

 Sunday November 12 at 2:30 pm:  A Covenanting service at Wesley United in Cambridge, 6 Cambridge St. The presider will be Debra McGill and the guest speaker will be Rev. Paul Browning from Trinity United Church, London. 

Sunday November 12 at 2:00 pm:  Installation service for Rev. Sebastian Meadows-Helmer and Rev. Carey Meadows-Helmer of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.  Please join us.

Sunday, November 19 at 4:00pm:  Taize Service at the Brubacher House on the University of Waterloo Campus. 

Saturday November 25 from 9:15 am – 3:00 pm:  Walking With Our Sisters is a touring art installation designed to honour and remember missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.  Join Waterloo Lutheran Seminary on a bus trip to Six Nations of the Grand River.  Cost $10 for students, $20 for members of the public (pre-paid).  Bus leaves from University Stadium, 81 Seagram Drive, Waterloo.  Pack a lunch.  Participants are requested to adhere to the installation protocols: no footwear; no photography; no alcohol/drugs; modest dress (women are requested to wear long skirts). Register by November 22 by contacting dkrugerallen@wlu.ca

Saturday November 25th from 8:00 am  – 2:00 pm:  Join us for the Annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 700 Glen Forrest Blvd, Waterloo! New this year: artist demos and make-and-take crafts! Also Christian cards and books, collectibles and fine crafts. Lunch available for purchase at 11:00 am! Admission is free but non-perishable food donations for the Community Cupboard would be appreciated. Proceeds from this year’s sale will go to the Church Capital Fund. A matching grant of up to $300 will be provided by FaithLife Financial!
