What’s Happening at Trinity…

Join us: Andrew Hyde, Ecumenical Chaplain at the University of Guelph will preach this Sunday June 18th. He is the son of our late minister Rev. Bob Hyde.

Next Sunday, June 25th: join us for a special worship service in the Hearth Room as we begin to understand and respond to the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Guest speaker Barbara Carpio, a United Church delegate to the closing ceremonies of the TRC, will lead us in some reflection and response. Light refreshments will be available after the service.

Summer Services: will be held at St. James’-Rosemount United Church for the months of July and August. 171 Sherwood Ave, Kitchener next to the Krug Street Plaza. Services will be at 10:00 am.

Picnic on the Green: returns this summer. Please join us any Thursday in July and August from 10 am to 2 pm for conversation with neighbours and casual visitors. Take a break under our beautiful maple tree on the lawn, and enjoy some light refreshments.

Save the date: United Church Women - 2017 Women's Fall Retreat at Five Oaks Education & Retreat Centre – Friday October 13th – Saturday Oct 14th.

 Community News

Tuesday June 20: Strawberry Social hosted by Alma United Church’s at ALMA COMMUNITY CENTRE. Once again the Alma, Goldstone congregations will be serving up old fashioned ham, potato salad, jellied salads, coleslaw and devilled eggs and of course for dessert farm fresh strawberries, homemade tarts and cakes. Wednesday June 21 at 6:00 pm: House of Friendship 78th Annual Meeting being held at the Tannery Event Center, 151 Charles Street West, Kitchener. The evening will feature street photographer Al Doerksen who will showcase his innovative and compelling project, Engaging Strangers. We will also be challenged by Elliot Fung (Director, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, WWLHIN) & Jeremy Hedges (President of InkSmith – local tech start-up in Accelerator Centre). The evening will begin with a brief business meeting and a very special presentation of The Buhr Legacy of Friendship. We will end the evening with the ever popular Strawberry Social! Wednesday June 28th at 7:00 pm: Supportive Housing of Waterloo (SHOW) is Celebrating their 7th Anniversary Join them in the celebration evening at Erb St. Mennonite Church, 132 Erb St. W. in Waterloo.

Saturday June 24 at 7:00 pm: Tunnel In Coffee House Revival fundraiser for the Social Development Center of Waterloo Region. Held at Trinity in the Fellowship Hall.
