Good News:  The deal to sell 74 Frederick Street has now officially closed.

Trinity Single Ladies:  we are dining out this month on Tuesday, Jan. 30 gathering at 6:00 pm, at Mother's Pizza, 183 Weber St. N., Waterloo. (Across the street from the Comfort Inn, near Weber and University.) Please let Eleanor B. know if you are coming OR if you cannot come. Reply be email, or phone.

Worship Team Meeting:  Wednesday January 31, at 6:30 pm in the Upper Room.

Messy Church:  Has been cancelled for next Sunday February 4th.  Please note that there will be changes for the March and April dates as well.  More information will be published at a later date.

Waterloo Presbyterial UCW:  Guest Speaker Rev. Paul Miller “Challenging Changes: ‘Where do we go from here?’”  Monday February 5, 2018 at 9:00 am.  Forest Hill United Church 121 Westmount Rd. E. Kitchener.  Worship and Fellowship.  All are Welcome.

Skating Party:  Join St. Matthews Sunday February 11th between 2 – 3 pm at Kitchener Auditorium for Skating and then Pizza & Pop in the Subscribes Lounge between 3 – 5 pm.  St. Matthews needs to know numbers for ordering food.  If you plan to attend please let Dorothy know by Thursday February 8th.

Trinity Book Club:  will meet on February 28 at 1:30 pm to discuss "The Wonder," by Emma Donohue. Set in rural Ireland in the mid-19th century, the story deals with people caught up in conflicting belief systems that lead to desperate actions and serious consequences. We will meet at the home of Margaret C.

World Day of Prayer:  Friday March 2nd.  Watch for information about location and times.

Save the date: 

March 4th (all day) Toronto United Church Council coming to speak with us.

March 18th (all day) Touring GTA sites.  Let the office know if you are interested so we can arrange rides.

Reminder:  All bookings/cancellation of activities and use of space need to be done through the Trinity Office.  Please anticipate your needs as we share space with St. Matthews and their many partner groups.

Security:  for security reasons please do not let individuals into the St. Matthews building unless you know them or recognize them.  The Trinity access bell is on the right hand side of the entry door off the Charles and Benton Street parking lot.

Updating the Church Directory:  If your contact information has changed in the last year please let the office know - any changes to address, phone number (landline or cell).  Dorothy is updating the Church Directory for 2018.

Community Events

Sunday January 28, 4:00 pm:  Spiritus Ensemble presents Bach Vespers for the Feast of the Presentation, including Bach Cantata 98, ‘Was Gott tut, das ist wohlgetan,’ and the premiere of a new cantata by Zachary Wadsworth, ‘The Temple.’  Soloists Sheila Dietrich, Daniel Cabena, Steve Surian and Daniel Lichti.   The Church of St John the Evangelist, 23 Water St N, Kitchener.  Admission free; donations requested.

Saturday January 27 at 6:00pm:  LGBTQ Community and Allies Potluck and Discussion meeting at Parkminster United Church, 275 Erb St. E.  For more information contacteforde@sentex.ca.
