Waterloo Presbytery Celebration Worship:  Inviting United Church members and adherents to this service marking the end of Waterloo Presbytery on Sunday November 4 at 3:00 pm at Parkminster United Church, Waterloo.

New Gifts with Vision catalogue 2018-2019:  is available on line. Celebrate a special occasion and make a difference in the world. Gifts with Vision projects support the work of United Church partners across Canada and around the world.  A few catalogues now available at the back outside the chapel doors.

UCW Presbyterial Gathering:  November 5, 9:00 at St. James’-Rosemount United, Kitchener.  ---our guest speaker, Kathleen Barsoum, Region of Waterloo waste coordinator, will be “Talking Trash/Plastics”!!! How do you take care of your garbage—environmentally?

Observer Renewal 2019:  If you wish to renew your subscription or begin a new subscription please contact the office.  The fee is $25 (including taxes) and is due by November 25.  Payment may be placed on the offering plate indicating it is for the Observer or mailed to the church. 

Donations for Christmas Memorial Flowers:  will be received on the offering plates or through the office.  This year we will be delivering the plants to our shut-ins after worship on December 9. The Trinity Book Club will gather at the home of Jane M. on Wednesday, November 21 at 1:30. The book for discussion is "Baltimore's Mansion, A Memoir" by Wayne Johnston. Classed as  literary non-fiction, the narrative follows the story of three generations of the author's family, descendants of Irish  immigrant settlers in Newfoundland, but it also    includes much historical detail about the former British colony  and its entry into Confederation. Entertaining and    informative, this book should lead to interesting discussion.  Please join us.

“Faith and Climate Transformation”:  free interfaith climate conversation with Dr. Sailesh Rao co-producer of “Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret” and local environmental groups.  Sunday November 4 at 1 pm.  Grand River Unitarian Congregation 299 Sydney St. S, Kitchener.

DaCapo Chamber Choir:  presents “White Lights in Darkness” Saturday November 3 at 8pm St. John the Evangelist, 23 Duke St., Kitchener and Sunday November 4 3pm at Trillium Lutheran (22 Willow St, Waterloo)  Adults $25, Seniors $20, Youth and Children under 18 $5.  Tickets available on line.

A Week of Guided Prayer:  “Abundant Life” -Hosted by Calvary Memorial United – 91 Gruhn Street Kitchener.  Sunday November 4 – Saturday November 10.  Registration fee $25.  Poster, brochures and registrations forms found outside the chapel doors with more information.

SPAGHETTI SUPPER & BAKE SALE:  Mark your calendar!  Westminster’s annual Spaghetti Supper & Bake Sale fundraiser will take place on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Dinner includes spaghetti with choice of sauce (meat or vegetarian), salad, rolls, beverages and dessert!  Adults are $12.00, Children 2-12 are $6.00 and Children under 2 are free.  Yummy home-baked goods will be available for sale as well.  All are welcome - spread the word to friends, family and co-workers, and invite them to attend!

Harvest & Holly Bazaar and lunch:  held at Puslinch Community Centre, 23 Brock Rd. S., Aberfoyle on Saturday November 10 between 10:30 am and 1pm.  Free admission and parking.  Non-perishable food donations appreciated.  Hosted by Mt. Carmel-Zion United Church in Morriston.

Schneider Male Chorus concert presents:  “Let There Be Peace”. All are invited to join us on Sunday, November 11, 2:30 pm at First United Church, 16 William Street West, Waterloo.  Proceeds support the mission work of our UCW. Cost: pay-as-you-can.

Hamilton Conference Farewell:  “A Come and Go Tea” Celebrating Hamilton Conference will be held on Friday November 16 between 1 and 3 pm.  1552 Highway 6 North, Hamilton.

HOPE COMES TO EARTH: Music for the Christmas Season.  Spiritus Ensemble performs two of Bach’s best-loved works, the Magnificat and the Cantata Wachet auf (‘Sleepers, wake!’) as well as The Temple (2018) by Zachary Wadsworth.  With soloists Sheila Dietrich, Jennifer Enns Modolo, Daniel Cabena, Bud Roach and Daniel Lichti; Kenneth Hull conducting.  Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., at Trillium (formerly St John’s) Lutheran Church, 22 Willow Street, Waterloo.  Tickets $30 Adults | $25 Seniors | $10 Students | $5 Children.  Tickets available at the door and at spiritusensemble.com.

Wayne Gilpin Singers:  Saturday December 1, at 8.00p.m. there will be a celebration of the Nativity and our 14th annual Jazz Messiah, St. John the Evangelist Church, 23 Water St. North, Kitchener, with band accompaniment.
