What’s Happening at Trinity…

Last week for donations for Christmas Memorial Flowers:  will be received on the offering plates or through the office.  This year we will be delivering the plants to our shut-ins after worship on December 9. Please confirm the wording of your memorial with the church office no later than Wednesday, December 5.  Call Dorothy at 519-742-3578 or email

Wednesday Prayer Group:  Please join Mary Edith and Pauline on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 for prayer. We meet in the Cloister Walk. Remember to place your prayer requests in the Prayer Box on the credenza outside of the main doors into the chapel; the Prayer Group will pray these requests.

This Sunday Advent Carol Service:  A candlelight service of readings, music and congregational singing. Combined choirs from St. Matthews Lutheran and Trinity United.  Sunday December 2, 7:00 pm at 54 Benton Street.  Freewill offering.  A donation will go towards House of Friendship.

Reading Through Luke:  1pm Wed Dec 5, in the chapel, with St. Matthews and St. Stephens Lutheran, we read the 24 chapters of Luke from ‘Dear Theophilus’ to ‘to the ends of the earth’ – sign up to read one of our 8 chapters, or just drop in to listen to 24 voices, beginning the ‘Year of Luke’.

Trinity Single Women’s Dinner:  Tuesday December 11th at 5:30pm ** changed from November 27th. “168 Sushi” located at 50 Westmount Rd. N (Westmount Place just north of Erb). Buffet is $25 but individual menu orders available.  Many choices are not spicy. (check menu).  It looks like it might be fun!!!  Please let Mary Ann Pedlar know your intentions  519-888-6924, or

Loaves and Fishes Christmas Dinner:  Tuesday December 11, 12:00 noon in the St. Matthews Fellowship Hall.  Turkey dinner with trimmings  provided by Darlise Café.  $10 per person.  Register by December 7th at 519-742-0462.  Regular Loaves and Fishes program will resume on January 8th. 

The Fellowship Club Christmas Party: is on Wednesday, December 12th in the Royal Room at  Golf’s Steak House, 598 Lancaster St. W., Kitchener. Arrival time is 5:00, with supper being served at 6:00.

Community Events

Cookie Walk and Ticket Draw:  Saturday December 1, 9:30am.  St. James'-Rosemount United Church, 171 Sherwood Ave. Kitchener.   Bring your own container or buy one from us.  Fill your container with cookies.  What could be easier?

Breakfast with Santa:  December 8th at St. James'-Rosemount United Church, 171 Sherwood Ave, Kitchener. Sittings at 8, 9 or 10 am.  Registration is limited so do not be disappointed - breakfast, craft, a short movie, visit with Santa and a photo. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Inshallah sings at the Kitchener Public Library on Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. and at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Dec. 9. at 3 p.m.  An edited version of this event will be broadcast on CTV at 11:30 p.m on Christmas Eve.

YES VIRGINIA, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS: Westminster United Church (543 Beechwood Drive, Waterloo) presents “Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus”, a short play by Jamie Gorski, and produced by special arrangement with Playscripts Inc.  Two performances available:

Friday, December 28, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, December 30, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Admission is a free will offering.  We look forward to entertaining you!
