to remember and honour all the Indigenous children

who went to Residential School

and those children who died at school.

Steps Toward Reconciliation: Blanket Exercise Workshop & Lunch:  Join Parkminister United Church on Sunday October 14 at 11:30am to deepen your understanding of the shared history between Indigenous peoples and European settlers.  Register today.  A Free event but donations welcomed.

Where are all the young people?:  Join writer/educator David Wells in examining ‘why young people are so disaffected by their encounters with churches and what might be our response.’ Friday October 19 at 7:30pm at St. Jerome’s University Vanstone Lecture Hall 290 Westmount Rd. N.  Limited parking.  Register for this complimentary lecture.

Waterloo Presbyterial: “JOY” day at Parkminster United Church, Waterloo on Saturday October 20th - 10am -2pm.  Getting Stress Under Control Through Mindfulness and Meditation followed by Doing God’s Work in the World-Kenya and Morongoro. Musical Event:  Join us at First United Church on Sunday October 28 at 3 pm for an enjoyable afternoon of great music. KW BIG BAND THEORY is well-known for its thrilling big band classics from the swing era to the punchy horn bands from the 70's and 80's. This concert will also feature the talented voices of Derek Hines and Nathan MartinTickets are $25  available online at BROWNPAPERTICKETS.COM and WORDSWORTH BOOKS (96 King St, S. Waterloo). We are pleased that the Solé restaurant (83 Erb St. W. in Waterloo) is supporting this concert by offering 10% off a dinner entrée to those who have proof of their attendance at the concert (Sunday October 28 only). Reservations would be appreciated.

Jesus Camp: A Contemplative Retreat with PiE   Young adults are invited to join PiE (Pastors in Exile) for a weekend of open exploration around our images of Jesus. Who is Jesus for us? For me? Doubt, resistance, struggle with the relevance of Jesus - all of this is welcome. Love, confidence, longing for deeper intimacy with Jesus - all of this is welcome. This weekend will be a space to honour our deepest questions and tend to the longings of our souls.
