A Thank you from Sanguen

Dear Members of Trinity United Church,

On behalf of everyone at Sanguen Health Centre, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your extraordinary donation of $20,000 in support of our new Drop-In Space at 130 Victoria Street in Kitchener. Your generosity will have a lasting impact—directly supporting the hiring of Peer Workers who will play a vital role in shaping this welcoming and essential space for people who use substances.

This Drop-In was created in response to the April 1st closure of the Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) site in Kitchener, a significant loss for many in our community. The need for a safe, accessible, and stigma-free space where people can gather, access harm reduction supports, connect with healthcare, and receive compassionate care has never been more urgent.

With your support, we are building more than just a space—we are creating a community. Peer Workers, individuals with lived or living experience, will be central to this model. They will offer frontline harm reduction support, distribute supplies, provide overdose prevention education, and foster connection and belonging. Their leadership ensures that programming is not only relevant but deeply rooted in trust, respect, and understanding.

Thanks to your donation, we can ensure that this Drop-In remains a low-barrier, person-centered service. It will be a haven for individuals who have lost access to care and connection, and it will strengthen Waterloo Region’s network of harm reduction and health support. Volunteers, outreach teams, healthcare providers, and Peer Workers will work together to ensure this space remains welcoming, consistent, and grounded in the community.
